As to the question is Swn hanging on by its teeth.... If they sold all their assets, they would have probably $3billion in debt . They are effectively liquidating daily, since no capital to replace production ... They can go on for years ... But this scenario suggests layoffs and reductions year by year . I haven't heard anything specific but the logic seems there

I hear Antero has a lot of OU people. May be a good fit.

So is SWN hanging on with their teeth? Why isn't the stock at $20?

Any group will tend to flock - its natural.. Land is OU grads ( and i know there was a lawsuit - but different issue) ... Technical ranks it has been Colorado school of mines grads- though that will likely change. HR- we know about the alternative lifestyle issues, which arent a big deal-- unless there are internal relationships that are inappropriate.

Some of this is just how humans work. ... You have to find your group -- it may or may not be at SWN... For me the biggest disappointment is that the sale is going to pay down debt and not drilling... I think we now have another 1 1/2 to 2 years with no drilling ... That will more likely lead to more layoffs.

As to WVA -- i am thinking fairly good position to either stay with SWN or get picked up by Antero

How many young OU grads do you know that got laid off from SWN? That should answer your question regarding the "pettiness" of the argument.

What is with the petty accusation that pretty, young OU grads are safe? Good grief. There is no strong connection to this bitterness.

The sell off was the WV acreage, and its acreage that wasn't scheduled for development for another 7 years. Often a sale of this nature, where it impacts some but not all acreage, can be beneficial. SWN did the same thing with Fayetteville leasehold acreage several years ago. The buyers drilled wells and proved up undrilled sites. The same thing will likely happen with the WV asset divestiture.

SWN needs to get bought out.

Doesn't a major want a bunch of natural gas?

Seriously, do you think there is layoffs coming for Spring, TX?

Perhaps we are in worse condition than we thought considering how the market reacted today to the deal. Down 10%. Should I be worried about my job? (as if i wasn't worried before...but should I be more worried after this news)

If you're young and pretty and OU grad, no worries. Keep smiling.
