Anyone have more info on the upcoming layoffs?

Yeah people just can't understand that at the end of the day the company isn't theirs. The company officers own it and they wanted out. So they forged a deal with a merger, got themselves a golden parachute and that's it.
Nobody cares about us, I mean do you care about them? Remember when they used to say FMC doesn't layoff or fire anyone? That's changed.

If you are 50 or more years old and have been with the company for more than 10 years then you are out. Then a week or two later when you are searching the network for a job you'll see an add posted by FMC Technologies for a position describing the exact same job requirements and skills that you "Loyally" provided for the company for the past 10 years or more. The job title will be different than the one you had before your job was "so called eliminated" but the responsibilities and job task will be identical. You might get a chance to reapply and come in for a fake interview with the people you trusted and reported to in the past. They will have a straight face on them throughout the interview and you might leave there thinking that you have a chance to get your job back. Don't bother because you don't. You will be replaced by a recent college graduate or intern who you probably mentored and showed everything they asked to be helped with. For the HR people who support and play this cruel and unjust game just to protect their own skin and the company from a potential lawsuit, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You are "weak" and "incompetent". You know that if you don't play this game of weeding out the older employees who were "loyal" and worked hard for FMC all those years while making record shipments and profits, then you are the next ones to get the "pink slip".
