Had to write this since a long time. I had got the F out of VMware in 2014 after 10 yrs. 3 months after leaving, VMware starts to call me back, and i say NO. And then they start calling me once a week. Anyways at some point they offered me 45% more on my base salary of what i earned when i left. Well, a 45% raise in base in 6 months, not bad - I sold my soul. So basically i burnt a bridge at my current employer. So one year down the lane, when the time came for layoffs - they cut me , as i was drawing a higher salary.
So this is what is interesting, to get me - they paid me a higher salaray - trust me i did not even negotiate - they just gave it. And then the irony is... that was the reason they laid me off.
So Leadership... take that EPIC badge, roll it and shove it
