Thread regarding Wind River Systems Inc. layoffs

Another negative glassdoor.com review...

"Unorganized Company Hoping to Straighten Up"

Current Contractor - Anonymous Contractor in Alameda, CA

Doesn't Recommend

Neutral Outlook

No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Wind River as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Work/life balance is good.

Cons

Lack of management. No one seems to stay on top of project goals and assignments. Due to a relaxed WFH policy and not much management oversight, the engineering building is nearly empty at all times. This makes it hard to get work done when your teammates don't come into the office but once a week. Also, best projects get assigned to Ottowa office, leaving us with the crappy work (at least in my group).

The announced Intel merge is causing a lot of uncertainty, many senior employees have left since I've been here.

Advice to Management

Retire. Hire the next generation to lead or watch Intel take your management position.

Agreed. On the other hand, if he (or she) is a contractor, they can move on with not too much to worry about.

I don't think I'd post something like that if I was a contractor. Just my two cents.

Especially a contractor with less than a year here - you stick out like a sore thumb.
