Project Management relevancy after SLb

Anyone has any idea if Project Management are still relevant after SLB? They basically are under operations.don't do sales, don't do engineering work - how are they relevant?

PM's are useless when there are no new projects. And the person running the PM's at a specific office is a little Napoleon who rules with fear, rudeness, and a defeatist attitude. Everyone in her department hates her and wants out from under her. But she's not American so she gets to keep terrorizing her department without worry.

All the project mgrs and coordinators in cps division are worthless. They all hide out all day or sit in the kitchen cheating for hrs at a time. But the ones that actually work are the ones that get laid off. The person running this department currently is as worthless.

it was not relevant before and much less so now. I never met a project manager who was organized and who helped in any way.

It is not easy to find a good project manager. If there is one that is good I hope they keep them, but I have not met anyone.
