Number and age break down of June 2016 RIF

Does anybody know the break down of the age groups that were RIF'ed? From the statements made it sounds like a fair numbers of these employees that were let go were over 55, was the longer term employees targeted ?

I'm looking forward to being laid off by HPE prior to the new company. Most jobs will be going to India either way.

#AgeDiscrimination at it's best - I wander how numbers break down at CSC, in terms of age of people that are being laid off recently

That's discrimination based on age. And the statement that they're "a higher risk and produce less" is your point of view. Some of the best workers in my group ARE over 50 and they produce a lot. Younger employees would do themselves a favor if they copied the "work ethic" most of the boomers have! Hope you never are working over 50 as people might view you that way too!

I was released and approaching 55 in a couple months. Also shocked because of being a disabled Veteran with Status. So much for being a veteran friendly company.

I was part of the RIF, today being my last day. I am in my early 40s and another guy in my group that was let go is younger than I am.

It was not targeted at the long term employees. There were a lot of people that were only there for a year - 5 years. its just the major GIS org still had a lot of employees left from previous mergers and buyouts left from the last 10 years or so. (some of us did not leave on our own because we were waiting for the beautiful severance package we were promised by HR from the last company that was supposed to carry over.. and csc did not honor that.)

Not at single offshore resource was cut if that says anything though.

I do believe there is some relation between AGE and the number of employees RIF'd in the older categories. The older the age group the more layoff's, and why not? Older make more money, are a higher risk, and produce less.
