Thread regarding CSC layoffs

2016 RIF

I was part of the RIF. Was with the company 1 year and 8 months. I find myself fortunate being younger (34) than most people that were part of the layoff. CSC was horrible to work for. I regret ever leaving my old job to come here.

I hope everyone finds happiness in their next employment and I hope this just a blessing in disguise. Just remember folks, we deserve better than what CSC had to offer!

I was RIF'd back the end of Feb 2015 Just 8 months short of 8 years. CSC (Cheap Sh#$ Corp) worked you to death you had no life outside of work.

Worked huge amounts of uncomp’d OT. My Manager was RIF'd the same day so I got the call from a manager who only knew my name... It took

me 9 months to find a new job in the "GREAT Obama Economy” I am glad to be gone from that place. They hired a bunch of kids just out of school that

didn’t know how to do ditty. I am sure Boeing is just loving their new support model

CSC is one of the worst places to work for. They do not value their employees and intentionally put their workstaff in conflicting situations. I worked there for 4 years before being let go. My wife, roommate and myself all worked there at the same time. They terminated both my wife and roommates employment the same day... I was required to terminate their access and then I was let go a week later. All under the ruse of a RIFT. I would never recommend this company for a place of employment. The cold message of the RIFT notice delivered does not surprise me or any of the former CSC employees I know.

So which is right?

@1pev says it's 2 weeks for everyone with less than 3 years of tenure...

@HG0EAjZ says that there is nothing... @msd also hints that there was no payment...

OK, so what's correct here?

Up to 3 years - 2 weeks

3 up to 5 years - 4 weeks

5 up to 9 years - 5 weeks

9 up to 15 years - 6 weeks

I got same thing .Honestly , CSC is not good place to work for. After every year performance review my manager were saying all the best - how I am good , work hard , helping my teammates , so on ... but almost no salary increase . And now , nobody explains why I got that RIF , when I was one of the key member of my team.

Depends on how many years you have been there.

I know 2 people that were cut with 2 weeks pay, one with 5 weeks pay, and myself with 8 weeks pay (supposedly the highest you can get for non Executive with 15+ years)

So is there any severance or anything offered at all for years of service? Or just a call to say don't come back?
