What a Dick Head Loser "Make it rain" is!!!
You need a pole up your FatAss!!!
Some of the best old school oilfield meetings were held in strip joints with 5 dollar steaks and women working their way through college. Many of those women are wives of executives and managers in oil companies today.
Also back then the dirt you had on one another kept people focused on a common goal of getting the job done and running away as fast as they could. 5 dollar steak saved a lot of money too when billing it to a project.
HR, anyway pole dancing is definitely a skill set integral to the oilfield, and much more needed now than pole smoking. There was a time when all a man needed in life was a truck, trailer, deer lease, cold beer and a happy thin at the waist woman who didn't ask too many questions and knew how to fry up a T-bone.
I can remember tailgates lowered after work, drinking with the bosses behind the gas station over by Gears. How times have changed. Agree with below, pole dancing isn't demeaning in my book. Its normal, more people ought to do it.
Agree that working a pole is nothing to be ashamed of but would hope someone would have a little more to add to a resume than that to qualify for a HR position at FMC
Remember the HR girls back in the day at the Christmas parties? Those were the days.
Now they are like old prison guards.
FMC was better when HR was staffed with former waitresses from their managers favorite lunch spot.
Layoffs are coming, there are people in HR who can't keep a secret. So drop the damage control. Pole dancing is nothing to be ashamed of.
Sry your experience with HR has been like that. Good apples and bad apples in all groups I guess.
Its not the fact that HR is the one handing out pink slips that makes them the root of all evil, its the fact that they are only out to benefit FMC, they do not care about the employee. HR will do anything and everything they can to ensure FMC looks like the good guy, they will pin problems on people just so they can avoid paying a severance package. It was my understanding that HR is supposed to be there to ensure ALL employees are treated equally, not just the ones that wear suits everyday or may look a little different.
Found the HR worker.
Woa you guys are really good at predicting layoffs. Not. And the ignorant comments around HR are pathetic. If you think HR runs the company and calls the shots, you're a bigger moron that we thought. Times are tough, duh. But just because HR hands you your pink slip, doesn't mean they are the "root of all evil" at the company or "work in strip clubs.
We are hearing the same about Scotland. Also bad news for Angola and Nigeria. The company is making some really drastic moves.
This downturn is now expected to last 5 years. That said I think FMC/Technip merger will bring hell to FMC. Technip will not need any FMC operations personnel or PMs. The only people safe maybe will be manufacturing. If you have a hand feeding steel to machines then you might be ok. Technip can't do that yet, however they can do the rest and will. FMC don't care about me or you.
Thursday 2nd June.
FMC announce the closure of the Bellshill facility in Scotland.
110 employees there at present.
55 jobs to go with others being transfered to Dunfermline by end of October.
No doubt Dunfermline will be getting hit again soon.
Watch this space!
HR is there to protect FMC NOT for the employee. The only thing they can do is give you a 1-800 number.
Some of those HR chicks perform pretty well in the strip clubs in Houston
HR has always been ran by metrosexual, butch women, activists and sorority girls who are good entertainment at parties. What can you expect from that bunch?
This is why you have the screwed up culture. I miss the days of a few hot glorified admins as HR, real managers pulling the strings, the big BBQ pit on wheels and the small bit big company atmosphere.
When that bunch came in around 06 to 07 FMC ended as we knew it.
Now it's pretty uncomfortable there at times and I agree that bunch of prison guards they have in HR now if let go would be a start in the right direction.
If you ask me, HR should have been at the top of the list to be completely replaced. I think they are the root of all evil within this company
I am hearing June 8th
I hope Baker Street Boy is better at drinking beer than predicting layoff dates.
man what a stressful day. I was thinking 300 people and that would be everyone on at Gen Park. When is HR going to get trimmed down?
So...did any layoffs actually happen?
Pretty good predicting on today. Congrats a--hole face
Ok! Was there a layoff today anywhere at FMC???
Those videos are not stupid. They are educational and show off our musical talents and diversity and inclusiveness and all that stuff that makes us successful. H Town for life.
Any layoffs at gen park today?
I love how people think this company revolves around gen park. Believe it or not there are more of us out there than just in Houston. I guess yall should be worried, the rest of us out here are actually doing something other than sitting around thinking up stupid policies and making stupid videos...
Nothing happening at Gears or Gen Park today! Where is it going on?
600 people, that's a lot of folks. Where would they be takin from. I think we only have 1000 - 1500 at gen park.
I was hearing 600 so maybe there will still be a July layoff and this is just the 1st part.
2 minutes and counting down good luck
HR has a room on the 6th floor behind the planning supervisors office though, starts ar 9
Has any layoffs occurred this morning?
Yes it does I hear and the list is large. Wasn't supposed to be until July 5th, but here we go. Guess the 50bbl wasn't enough to save us. I'm pretty sure my days are done. For those who knew me, they knew me well, for those who didn't can meet me for a beer on Thursdays at Baker Street and buy me a round until I find a new job. 300 is the figure I was told, man that's massive.
