Weekly Initial Unemployment Claims @ 257,000, Lowest 4-Week Average since 1973

The Department of Labor just reported:

In the week ending April 23, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 257,000, an increase of 9,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 247,000 to 248,000. The 4-week moving average was 256,000, a decrease of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average. This is the lowest level for this average since December 8, 1973 when it was 252,250. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 260,500 to 260,750.

There were no special factors impacting this week's initial claims.

This marks 60 consecutive weeks of initial claims below 300,000, the longest streak since 1973.

Th is the lowest level for the four-week average since the lng forgotten 1973.

Newsflash: these numbers are PROPAGANDA

Those numbers are bogus. Everyone knows it and knows why....except stupid Democrats.

The US is at war right now, not with ISIL, we are talking an economic war. The government has to lie and post bogus numbers to attempt the portrayal of "healthier.". What we really know is if you add the debt of every US state, it is greater than $30 trillion. Multinationals have been given too much of a pass for too long, and the government handouts have grown too large. That is because we allow corporations to run our country, and run our country into the ground is exactly what they have done. Also keep in mind, fiat currency is flailing all over the globe. There is nothing that will change though. Too many are comfortable with their flashy computer phones, their cheap clothes manufactured by cheap foreign labor, and their unprotected jobs where corporate personhood rules and you only have the right to show up until you no longer want to or they no longer want you to (usually the latter). This is the work you allowed.

If you knew how to do math you would realize these numbers have no meaning and no connection to reality. To see the health of the economy you need only to look at just 2 indicators:

Money velocity - The rate at which money changes hands - 40 year low
Employment to population ratio - people producing as a percentage of the overall population - 40 year low.
