Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Something big is happening from what I hear.

Organic cloud revenue is not growing anywhere close to as quickly as it needs to grow (in fact, it slowed) in order to catch up with Amazon on Microsoft.

Update your resume and keep your ears to the ground. Chances are you won't be laid off, but expect even more unrealistic deadlines and overtime.

Personally I'm looking for jobs elsewhere and I'm recommending everyone else do the same.

CMS Cloud will cease to exist by EOY 2016. It's a major money loser, and has been bleeding cash for years. CMS is unreliable, confusing, and expensive to the customer. 39 data centers throughout the world that are understaffed and unstable. Morale is awful, most would not care if it suffered week-long outages at all. It's a hostile environment, toxic, terrible place to be.

It uses antiquated and broken components, and takes 4x the staff of say, AMS to keep it even running.

Ginni is frantically buying up any company with some forward thinking in the cloud space in the $bil price range, but 90% of those newly onboarded are fired within 12 months, and the whole company is forgotten.

IBM is, however, cash rich. Mostly from "float" - investors blindingly holding the stock because Warren told them to. It's a bubble, one that will pop with a very loud bang

IBM should get innovative and build a computer or something like that.
