I work at another very large engineering company. Never have I heard such horrible stories of treating employees in or on their way out the door. I can not believe any of you want to continue employment at this company. Think about that! I treat my dog better than the way some of you describe how you are treated. Why do you stay? Money is not everything and the more you get the more you will cry when they take it from you.

Intel has ~6000 HRs, they should be laid off after engineering employees are laid off, HRs are useless and when a case is initiated they blame they are understaffed and consumes months of our time...Intel is an engineering/tech. company and excess HRs are waste of money!!
It's a vocal few like any "protest" or grievance movement. But I certainly condemn the performance evaluation process (a dinosaur from the Jack Welch GE days) for what it has become. Open campaigning for URMs over Non-URMs is abundantly clear in manager training material issued each focal. Intel, once merit-based, has become watered down by liberal social engineering.
Once a Great Place to Work has become a Place to Loathe by many. Good things happen there still, they are not hard to find. Also, a 100ku community will always have its share of victims and misfits. So.... what I'm saying to the OP is, this site is not a reliable sampling of the Intel Culture.
Looks like HR are desperately posting here to show Intel as GPTW after they are tired of scheduling meeting and delivering ISP packages.. Intel was a GPTW, but I see it's no more a great workplace!!!

Quotas are not the answer BK and you firing white people to forcefully remake Intel in your utopist mix of skin color (2020 goal) is evil. Things like this happen in every big company, Intel is not alone in downsizing. I will say that Intel is an awesome company to work for, they offer their employees more than just great wages and from what I have seen take these knd if actions to heart, it's not easy for the powers that be to make them and doubly hard for the managers who have to deliver the news. The person who started this thread has no idea what they are talking about. I myself affected or not, would to this day say that Intel is the best company I have ever worked for and would recommend to anyone looking for employment.
Depends a lot on your group and manager, I really like my job here and the pay is good.
In my 20 years of engineering career and as an engineering manager never heard stuff like this. I know this is fairly new but things had to be building up to this. Sounds like a witch hunt - taking them out and burning them at the stake.
I love Intel. I have my head deep in the sand. Hope next year focal I don't get SSL4 but if I do I can always come hang out on the thelayoff.com. I also love BK and Murthy. They are doing a good job.
I think big time execs who are paid 10-20 mil a year, think everything is about money....so their view of being "respectful" is being paid a severance amount....it's not about being humiliated.
