Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is normal terminate a person with an offer formally accepted to another position

Hi

I was terminated when I received an offer to another position. I had the job letter accepted and I was completely happy because I was facing serious harassment and retaliation coming from my old boss. When I got a new offer and accepted, the manager asked to stay some weeks more saying it was a transition plan. Then I was terminated with very serious and fabricated accusations and I could not assume the other position even with the job letter accepted.

Is that normal ? I will sue of course but I am wondering if someone else faced a similar situation.

I was trying to move to a new group too and I was given the dreaded level 4 stock.

Yes, I received the offer, signed etc. I have people that can testify in my favor as well. I opened the ODI but the attorney contact the manager and the director first instead to contact my peers. The HR took months to contact my peers as I solicited. The good thing was when I opened the ODI the manager told me that a interview with legal investigator was going on and I would not be welcome to the team anymore.. "The bridges are burn, find a new position or leave". From that moment, I passed in the CAP and they could not do anything else. The manager was constantly asking me "who is interviewing you?" and even after I got one of the offers, the manager tried to contact the hiring director to say bad things about me.. The hiring director ignored the manager and give me the offer anyways but he contacted me and told me what was going on. I had excellent performance and they fabricated a lot of things to fire me. They refused to give me a letter explaining why I was about to be terminated. This impact my life, my relationship with my family, my mind, my health... Please guys, if you have something similar send me an email to intelcase2016@gmail.com. I will provide the law office that is preparing my case and of course more people with same situation will make the case much more solid with more evidences. You do not need to tell your name if you do not want to, I will inform the office and let move a class action against them. Many thanks all and God bless all of you!

@upa, actually there is a contract if a written job offer is made.

I have to respectfully disagree with @hst, there are no "employment contracts" at Intel, all ee's are "at will" ees in the U.S. I believe you are referring to the commitment of one bg to hire an ee which is the offer letter, and if ee accepts it but please understand, that is not a "contract". Ees sign agreements when hired wrt conduct and trade secret agreements....however, there are no contracts stating stipulations of employment.

Amazing how some of the stories here are so similar to mine. I applied to a job and got it. My old team said I was critical for the project and held me in that team until recently. Old team did my focal and gave SL5. I am out. Is this a law suit? I never got less than SL3 ever other than this one.

if you have a job offer with a new team and you have accepted before you received the ISP,VSP,..ect, basically there is a legal precedent since the job offer constitute a valid and legal contract between you and Intel which they have to honor. A CAP will be the best negotiation tool you have here but your hiring manager will need to go above and beyond to put pressure on HR to let you stay on his team and for you to do a CAP to mitigate the 2015 focal "issues" and clean the record . You hiring manager have to want you very bad as he will need to do some hoops and also your current manager will need to agree with this..

Anything is possible but time is against you and HR right now basically is not taking any Open Doors nor they want to deal with this plus I am sure both your old and new manager will also try to save their asss and they may not want to put their heads on the cutter for you unless like I said before, the person wants you very bad and need you... You have nothing to loose at this point so fight until the end and hold your line!!! God Bless Friend!!!

@H7gTqeF-sfu yes! I saved all emails and communications. I am not lying. I always was a high performer and I started having problems with high level director. I was promoted, received RSU and they did everything they could including fabricating accusations of racism to kick me out.

Please please please! If there are other people with the same kind of problem please let me know. We can sue together.

Until now I have 3 posts with same or similar problem: @H7gTqeF-qlg, @H7gTqeF-qan and @H7gTqeF-rln

Send me an email to intelcase2016@gmail.com

Wow, I having a hard time coming to grips that Intel now conspires by making bad stuff up about a good performer just because they want to transfer to another team/group.

Why would they do that? There are plenty of non-performers to target. Something doesn't sound right.

Yup

That about sums it up for me too. In transition during focal my old boss stiffed me on the RSU and that was my ticket out.

I had that. Current manager said stock level 5 was not known to be a performance message and that I was so valuable that I needed to stay 4+ months rather than the typical 6-8 weeks. I even got HR involved over the disparity in message. Was supposed to start new job WW20... Well not anymore.

I had a friend who started neo at his new job last week and they let him go Monday.

If there is a law suite then I am willing to join. I moved to a different group and my old manager gave me an L4 as I did not stay. Now I am out. This is such gross violation of Intel policy.

I agree with @H7gTqeF-qtu ..seems impossible to get "O" rating to CAP or IR etc??!!! I was given CAP, then IR and SSL5 at year end, then ISP'ed last year (manager knew that I was trying to move to another group internally and he said he will help me, but actually he was preparing me to kick out before I move myself)..

@amx - you have got to be exaggerating! I'm stunned if this is true. Do you have proof? I'm just.., how can you go from outstanding to IR within two months? It's not possible; unless there was gross negligence, a security violation or something very egregious on your part. What infractions did they say you committed?

Last yer I had two job offers but they kept me until I was ISP'ed. I was flying over to Oregon and AZ interviewing and had no idea I was already on the hit list. When we started negotiating transfer date they kept dragging their feet telling me there is transfer freez and just wait for few weeks and I can then transfer. Took vacation and on my last day of vacation I got the dreadful 1:1 invite for 1st thing Monday AM when I was ISPe'd for SSL4 crap. GPTW @Intel.

"I received outstanding performance, promoted and in less than two months they included me in a CAP. I passed in the CAP and found a new position. During my CAP I received awards from other groups as well. Then, when they realized that I was moving to another group they fabricated reasons and fired me. I always received outstanding performance. I just want to know if someone else faced the same situation because I am starting to sue and I would like to know if there is someone else that want to join."

You are either leaving out something egregious on your end, or you are posting a fake story. This is hardly believable. Even the Medellin Cartel wouldn't "off" someone for outstanding performance so suddenly.... You are insincere with this post.

I think Open Door Investigation is your only way to go. "Terminated" implies in the past though, so not sure how that works if you have already been terminated.

Were you let go for your focal results last year? If so then it doesn't matter what group you're in.
