I have been watching this for about 8 years increasingly worse. The point is no one has the responsibility over our career and life. Hard lessons to learn at mid career though.

According to this article just 2 years ago Intel let go over 5000 employees this time its over double. What will it be next once they have everyone corralled in a couple locations they can bring in the replacements at will; give high paid or older engineers low ratings out with them and in with the low wage workers. Nothing can be done about it at this point, I think its too late. The company belongs to the CEO and stockholders.
