Anyone with a ISP able to share what you got? I'm looking at VSP and it's not at all that compelling. Feels like the packages are almost identical. If so, why not stick around and see what happens?

The difference is you get the choice.
That's the beauty of living in a "progressive" state like California. We have tax and employment laws that scare away a lot of employers but our assis covered at times like this. I rolled over 17 days of vacation to add to the accrued 9 through may. Then add my sabbatical which was scheduled for summer and overdue. If you live in a conservative red state you're probably not so lucky. Remember that as you're voting for less government regulation.
Actually the ISP and VSP package is the same, but the ISP gives you more. The ISP will pay the terminated employee the rest of April and all of May salary, and then the package kicks in. So the ISP person gets 3 months paid time off in reality plus the LOS time. The VSP person has to work May and June and then gets 2 months pay from the package.
Hello I got my isp today. The package is identical to vsp. I got my leftover vacation weeks added to the mix too. Since I've been at Intel for more than 10 years I got 15 extra weeks on top of the 8 weeks plus 3 weeks vacation paid out. If you are eligible for sabbatical then that also gets prorated and paid. This is all in California. Also I was given the EDD form for applying for unemployment. My 1:1 was in a private conference room. My slimy manager with crocodile tears in his eyes gave me the usual BS talk about how sorry he was etc etc. Then he left and the HR rep explained the package to me. Then she walked me down the elevator in a very discreet way, shook hands and left. Since I was very prepared I was able to maintain my cool and calm composure but I can see how it can be a traumatic experience for people whose lives have revolved only around Intel all this time....yes I felt sad but I also felt a sense of great relief..
ISP package is same as VSP. The only difference is that ISPs get 5 weeks of paid time off, while VSPs still have to show up to work until June 2. (If anybody thinks Intel will rehire anyone - VSP or otherwise, they are delusional). For ISP - unused vacation is NOT paid out in NM for exempts. Not sure for VSP. Kicking myself for not taking my vacation this year.
Maybe unemployment is good in Oregon, but here in AZ is sucks balls.
If that link is being truthful, then yes ISP is exact same payout of 15 weeks for 10-12 years as VSP.
Honestly with the option of unemployment ISP feels like a better option than VSP. How the f--- does that happen???

Even if you take vsp your "branded" a friend of mine tried coming back for a year and was rejected every time.
From what i see, vsp is same as isp. Only difference is you cannot rehire if isp - salt in the wound.
from someone who received package yesterday, keep in mind vacation is handled differently by state as some states (i.e. CA) have vacation accrual and must be cashed out to ee upon term: @H5xMvmy
