The focal was a complete sham this year. Middle management had their chosen targets and asked first level mgmt to dig up dirt on those targets. Targeted employees were simply given ssl4 at focal, thereby guaranteeing that they will be shown the exit after layoff announcement. Did anyone receiving the ssl4 actually deserve it. Of course not. Higher grades suffered the consequences because they are highest costs to company. The company needs to cut costs after PTD failed to keep the Intel lead in chip technology. The real failure here has been PTD.

no difference from the rest, 4% being walked out 1hr at time with HR+manager pre-arranged meetings. people don't know till a 1:1 is sent the day of. by end of friday it will be all over and 440 people will be gone
the chandler site was not targeted for program closure
mostly new hires and ERP were targeted
ISP performance based was also a big factor
On Monday only S1/S4/S5 were notified
Ocotillo Eng group got hit hard.
Upper management also got hit, one DM had to be walk out.
MT group was mostly offered ERP and not so much by VSP, very little ISP.
CWW BE of the week employees will not find out their fate until their first day back this Thursday

Heads are rolling as we speak, probably more so in Chandler (since they haven't been making anything as of yet)
They are pretty huge sites to close. Next to OR , AZ is Intel's largest site (employs 11000). The usual VSP/ISP is going on.
The exterminator took care of the ant colony .....chandler and ocotillo are thus saved. All praise to BK!
