Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I had 2 interview last week and the first question all interviewers asked was "were you let go because of low performance".

I have always got S/EE rating and better than SSL3 stock. I dont like to work for intel anymore and hence I gave 2 interviews last week (TSMC and Apple) and the first question all interviewers asked was "were you let go because of low performance". Seems like it is difficult to get hired because of this f**king layoff! Please suggest how to over come this situation :|

Take ownership of the story. Potential future employers, while possible aware of VSPs and ISPs, will only get the standard "John Doe worked at Intel from MM/DD/YY to MM/DD/YY" response if they call HR. I would say that I decided to take a separation package when offered.

Just give an answer which can be "yes or no"... as example, you can answer "it's depend... "... i'm sure you did learn a lot of skill in how to give neutral answer from daily meeting's experience

@btu - I do not recommend lying during an interview. Even if you're sure the statement cannot be disproven, you never really know.

Offer to provide a copy of your focal if that would increase their confidence.

Always say no...

Intel cannot release any information about your performance to other companies. They can only legally say that you worked there or not.

What did you answer? You are an EE so the answer is hell no. I got walked out last year and the only question related to VSP/ISP was, can you start working with Intel immediately or do you have to wait a year. In the past if you worked for Intel supplier you could not interact with Intel for a year but last year the rule was changed to 2 days after your last day at Intel. These morons don't know the difference between VSP and ISP. Just tell them you took the separation package. Thats all they need to know. Don't volunteer any more than they need to know.

Tell them that Intel senior management really screwed the pooch because they are not as brilliant as the people at TSMC and Apple. So they unexpectedly had do a panic staff cut to save their butts. Then say how you got caught up in it (new to company, young, old, took leave, changed bosses, etc).

Interview at small companies. Life will be better in a small company vs any large corporation.
