For employees laid off, if you had to choose, would you have rather known one month in advance but received no severance, or been surprised and received severance pay and benefits?

The money... the minimum amount of payment is 6 weeks. So 6 weeks vs 4 weeks... you do the math!
Definitely receive the severance. Not sure what I would have done with that lame duck month.
