Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

What is your opinion about forming a union to protect our profession?

How are we high-tech engineers any different than university professors, airline pilots, nurses, etc that get protection from corporate greed through their unions?

The former Broadcom CEO ruined the company and then received $67 million in golden parachute and accelerated vesting when he sold it. This was approved by the board of directors which mostly consists of CEO,s of other companies. Executives have their own "club" that protects their own interes, and we are the ones who end up holding the bag. Why shouldn't we have our own "club" to counter balance it?

I think people should. Many suffer because of wrong decisions of management...... Also executive salary packages (multiples) are not justifiable.
