Has your individual worked picked up, or is it about the same? I think APC was over staffed for the level of budget we were running at 2 billion. The staff we had seemed to support a 7 billion budget from past years, and I think before the year is out the budget will go up from 2 billion. The current staff level should be able to support a 4-5 billion budget. What do you think?

Folks have taken on the work of the people who left so everyone is stressed out and overworked, paranoid that the next round of layoffs is right around the corner. Weird things happening in the Denver office like closing the Records Center and routing all calls through the Houston office...is the handwriting on the wall?
Is it still too late to ask for the severance package?
I actually think I am pretty important since I am still here!
Obviously your very important because you have enough time to troll this site and post comments.........
No, I am a senior production engineer
I think you must work in a fairly non-essential department. At least one that doesn't really require a large degree of support presence during the down turn of exploration. Go ask an operational support group that doesn't farm out their work and see what is really going on. I'll bet many, like me, are wishing they had some of their co-workers back.
Has to be the young ones, all the older, experienced and more qualified people got let go.
I think this question is better directed to the Business Associates, Royalty owners, Product and Service Vendors, Land Owners, etc. I am hearing the frustration of so many that are not receiving payments on time. Not great for the attempt to improve one’s credit rating, huh?
Probably young people.....they do not have the worth ethic and drive as the older people.
Yes, we had 4 people quit because they couldn't handle the work load and stress!
