Thread regarding Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. layoffs

Freeport has been discriminating H1B foreign engineers during downsizing progress

FREEPORT management has decided not to renew H1B foreign workers ‘visa since the FREEPORT announced downsizing on August 27 2015. But HR told H1B foreign workers that your performance was bad so the company did not want to renew your visa. The discrimination issue is, during the downsizing progress, Freeport has laid off the American workers by the severance package of min 6 weeks salary and benefits to max 12 weeks, but just let H1B workers go without any pay. This is discriminative because that H1B workers have full time positions same as the American workers.

H1B workers should go to government to file a Charge of Employment Discrimination.
