You are correct about the employees being chosen by upper management and released to the campuses in the morning for last April's BIG RIF which turned out to be a huge disaster for the campuses. BTW, the information was shared with ONLY the campus presidents the evening prior to the RIF. That was the main reason for the termination of M.L. Since that time the CP and DOE have made the decisions at campus level on who was being terminated. Upper management will inform the CP of either a number of employees to be left go or it comes in the form of a payroll dollar amount needing reduced. It's then up to campus management to meet the numbers and still keep the campus operational.

If you people had a clue, decisions for people to be let go and whom specifically are made well above the campus level. The campuses do not have any say on who stays or goes. It's a liability for the campus, hence the reason HR and the RVPO level and above make those decisions. If there have been meetings at the local campus level, they have not been about RIF's. Furthermore, decisions about closures and consolidations are not announced until that morning even to the campus president. You may speculate all you like, but those are the facts.

The meetings are about the upcoming RIF. Each campus was given a reduction in force number to meet and they must produce a list of employees ASAP.

It is true, CPs were off campus for a week and very little in communication from anyone at Zenith or interdepartmental emails, either. The other shoe is about to drop. Hawn always makes changes at the end of each quarter. That's the salesman side of Hawn coming out; that is how sales people operate and focus on the numbers.

DOE stands for Director of Education, as it pertains to this posting. On a larger scale, it stands for Department of Education.
