I don't know if ITT Tech is selling this information to its potential students, but ESI is telling stockholders that its "graduate employment rate" is 73% (see page 7 of the latest 10K Annual Report). In other words, 73% of graduates surveyed had work "directly or indirectly" related to their course of studies. This sounds almost as dubious as Devry's claims that got the school in trouble. Graduate employment excludes many groups and it does not specifically explain what "direct or indirect use of skills" means. It also doesn't say what percentage were full time, versus part-time workers.......................... http://app.quotemedia.com/data/downloadFiling?webmasterId=101533&ref=10816020&type=HTML&symbol=ESI&companyName=ITT+Educational+Services+Inc.&formType=10-K&dateFiled=2016-03-15
Surveys like this (and their methodology) need to be scrutinized for their operational definitions, reliability and validity. At the very least, the response rate should be reported.
