Thread regarding Cameron International Corp. layoffs

good to be gone

I bailed out 2 years ago when I finally had enough of my boss. If you haven't started looking yet you better get off your ass. First they'll trim at the plants in an effort to make them look more profitable for a potential buyer.

All they'll keep is field service from the aftermarket group - the rest of you will be sold or let go.

The V&M group has until the end of June to find a buyer after that date all physical assets will be moved to Aftermarket yards to collect dust or be sold or as warranty replacements parts. The people of the organization will be put out on the streets in typical SLB style. Process system is on the hook after V&M and the only thing keeping them around is there service work. Cameron is no longer the great company it once was and will never be part of the upturn in the markets again (unless acquired back by nostalgic investors like BJ Services years ago). I was part of the management group that started mapping all this out months back.

An exact replacement for every Cameron brand of valve and actuator that is less expensive, more reliable and readily available can be found on the shelf - why do you think all the stocking distributors are dumping their Cameron products?
