Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

Was laid off yesterday.

Think quite a few will be joining me. The bench is massive. I was only put on two projects the entire time I was there. Spent more time on bench then on projects. It's a shame.

Accenture MDs should listen to employees instead of bullying them into submission. Happy employees are more productive and loyal than miserable ones. Treating employees like disposable objects only makes them feel unappreciated and they start looking elsewhere for employment. Which is why you have such high turnover.

European here...hopefully more people are from this region. Got laid off last month, with 3 months severance pay. Thats it. This company is rotten to the core.

Anyone else from europe experience this?

Yea I got the "overhired" term also. And two weeks notice. I agree about the Experienced Hires. We didn't even a chance to form a network. It also doesn't help when the CEO sends out his statement about how great 2nd quarter earnings were and how excited he is for the future. Kind of stings.

Sorry to hear. Can you at least let us know what DTE you were in?

If I reveal my level, group, geography, and how long I've been there I will no longer be anonymous...but I was a senior manager. No one in my group got severance - it's up to the boss's discretion. I am going to contact HR on Monday to see if I get my unused PTO paid out and whether I get COBRA insurance continuation (I assume I will). I got notified a week ago that I had a week to get on a chargeable account. I know some people who didn't even get that heads up.

What level, group (i.e. Strategy, MC, SI) and geography?

I got two weeks severance. That is standard based on ranking. So anyone below manager. I believe the biggest hit was Financial service consultants.

Why no severance? That seems wrong? How long were you there?

I am with you - I got laid off today. I have been on the bench for 3 weeks - they are massively overstaffed. No severance, just two weeks notice.
