Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

What's worse: CCi Program Directors or Zenith Asst. Deans?

I honestly can't tell which are worse. Both tend to be incompetent blow-hards who micromanage faculty over nit-picky B.S. policy that has zero relation to actual student outcomes or retention (e.x. weekly announcements that copy and paste the learning objectives from the syllabus and weekly modules). This place continues to be, and will continue on to be, run exactly the same as CCi.

After a year of new ownership, if you're hoping the ship to get righted and us become a respectable college - it's time to look at the actual facts and environment around us. This "school" remains a scam for it's students. ECMC has zero interest in changing this as they're reaping profits from student loan debt (their primary line of business). But still, I wonder: are the program directors of yester year worse, better, or essentially the same as our new ASSistant deans?

And, YES, I am very actively looking to replace this job with a better one. Unfortunately this is never a quick process, though...

I've never seen the Peter Principle in action more than at WyoTech. And the egos of these idiots; what a joke. It's obvious to anyone with a clue that more layoffs are coming as Hawn continues to "right size" the schools to cut costs while keeping the revenue from student debt at the forefront. If there truly is a rebuilding plan, it hasn't bottomed out yet and will take years for the rebuilding to take place. Until then, keep an eye on the want ads people, if the layoffs don't happen just before the end of the 1st Quarter, they will happen at the end of the 2nd Quarter. And as one of my coworkers wisely said, "keep your mouth shut and watch your back."

It's not a college and never will be. It is a "career school" and was never intended to be a "college".

It all comes from the campus president. Unless you ever held that title you will never understand the pressure and requirements the president puts on these people. You are constantly required to report all the problems you can find with what the instructors are doing. In the eyes of the campus president, the instructors are to blame for all the lazy students. If a student withdraws it's the instructors fault and so on. That is the main reason I resigned as a program chair. I could not deal with all the negativity about the hard working instructors coming from above.
