Having been through a major aerospace company being purchased then merged there is know direct answer to why or how many. The bottom line is ny traded company has to answer to it's share holders. Do yourselves a favor and go on as you know how. Including polishing that resume and getting it out there. Any way you look at it your in for a rocky road.

If the 500 for EMEA is correct than the Cork site would be the place. In last cut.All Contractors roles cut and lots moved to India/CR cost cutting due to high Cork classed cost site.

VMWare is probably being sold off to someone, they always clean house before the new owner comes in so they don't get blamed.

What's the reason for another around? They don't do this lightly (read: regularly) as the impact hit the survivors badly. They have reduced their 2016 guidance to a very low number, so another round of layoff needs a new reason.

The 500 in EMEA, is it from R&D, Support or Field? Field is typically spared unless your revenue dropped.

1200 Worldwide. 500 EMEA + 500 US + 200 APAC.

Estimates ofcourse, but that's what's expected.
