Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Tell Your State Street Story

We need to humanize this tragedy. A few have done so already -- saying how long they were employed, the impact the company's culture had on their family relationships and their own health. Describing how difficult a job search has been after being cast aside by State Street. The fear they feel in not knowing if they will be able to feed their families, maintain a roof over their heads or provide an education for their children.

More of us need to tell out story--only by shining a light on how State Street's actions have hurt individual hard working Americans will we be able to finally expose the greed and arrogance of the management team.

I was laid off from SSBT several years ago after 7 years of service. I knew it was coming and was prepared. I was laid off on Thursday; started at a new job the following Monday. You've got to be ready. Keep that resume updated. Keep interviewing. Unfortunately, there is no human factor at SSBT. NONE! Do not wait for the ax to fall or think that it won't. It will. There is life after SSBT. There are places that are really good and you can have fun. Just get out of ssbt!

There's some kind of clause in the "package" where you agree not to disparage the company ... or something like that.

I was laid off after over 30 yrs of devoted service - nights/weekends practically 24/7/365 with no overtime pay for most of it and was marched out like a criminal. I'm with a decent company now but am basically having to start over so the pay is even smaller than I was making there and things are tight. I wonder what expenses will be left to cut when clients flee because the service is completely nonexistent...I've sold my stock because I think we're witnessing the death of an institution. It was a great place to work in its day and this shoddy replacement version is pathetic.

Afraid? Afraid of what? Afraid to speak the truth about their own situations? Do not be afraid State Street employees. Do not be afraid. Speak up and be heard. The truth must get out.

Sorry to break it to you but people are afraid - there is a ton of anxiety and people are afraid that they will be discovered and punished for posting here.
