This is an absolutely perfect coda to the most poorly-run organization I've ever had the displeasure of working for. I'll shed no tears for the dilapidated former schoolhouse we call an office, the monotonous and empty-headed toiling that fills our days, and the pervasive managerial style that can only be described as "Two-year business school-chiq" (whereby I could pass for a manager provided I schedule enough superfluous meetings and throw out mid-90's catchphrases like "due diligence" that should've been relegated to the ash heap of corporate jargon history).
That's to say nothing of the business model itself; truly, I'm surprised it's taken corporate this long to remember they have a crumbling office in flyover country whose standard for years upon years was to operate in the red. Truly, were I in their position I would've done the same thing.
