It sure was nice to see the EHS VP's door closed while HR laid folks off. I guess he couldn't be bothered with his failure.

My son was laid off from Encana (Calgary) this week, he had 17 yrs of faithful service in a critical role with them. It seams extremely self-serving that so many of the top executives still remain at the expense of so many. Shame on you Encana.
Any truth that the Director & Manager (ratio to) Staff has grown even larger? How are the survivors going to get any real work done or is the Executive ok with the extreme risk to Environment Health & Safety (not to mention Regulatory, Compliance and Information)?
There's still a lot of dead weight in southern and western ops in my opinion. If things don't turn up soon, I'd expect further cuts toward the end of the year.
What groups were taken out completely in EHS?
65% of Calgary EHS let go. Pretty heartless really. I don't understand when they said 20% publicly how they could've hit one group so hard. Who or what group are they saving?
Worker bees suffered yet again slaughtering at that hands of those looking out for theirs own Wallets (and not talking about shareholders).
65% of Calgary EHS staff are gone.
Sorry to hear that. There are (were?) some good people there.
Do you know which groups?
A lot of good people were let go today. Probably more than 50%. Some groups were completely wiped out.
