Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

I was laid off from Burlington Resources at age 52 after 25 years with it and predecessors. Met some people who thought it was the end of the world, I wouldn't get another job. Well I ended up getting another job at a small independent and made a lot more money than I ever did at BR. I saw the jerk who decided I wasn't needed any more at some CPE event and thanked him for finally giving me the opportunity to use my skills where I was recognized rather than being ignored. BR had a defined benefit plan I could not have walked away from earlier. It all worked out.
