Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

Wake up board of directors

Where is the leadership and vision around here? The industry is changing, the stocking is tanking and the backlog is disappearing and all management can think of is layoffs. Top management is like a fly trying to get out through a window, not smart enough to go in a different direction. They hired a bunch of former GE managers who seem to be doing nothing, maybe this is why GE got rid of them. I know Jack Welch would not have put up with the apathy that is prevalent around here. The moto at FMC is “don’t F**k it up”. In other words, do nothing. Eventually, the board of directors needs to step in and make some changes fast. All the “C” executives need to go. We need an aggressive CEO, COO and CFO to come in and diversify the company into other industries (aerospace, automotive, DoD, etc). Think about it, Subsea is nothing more than a contract manufacturer. They make stuff for someone else. Look at GE, they are not in one industry and their stock continues to climb. All of the inert former GE managers need to go also. Since aggressive change is what we need like the GE style, these guys are not going to lead us out of this mess. Wake up board of directors and do something and do it fast!!!

At some point the market will improve. The only thing that keeps me going lately is looking forward to the mass exodus that will ensue. I have never seen so many people so disgusted with this management and no one respects them, but they are stuck due to the market. There is no loyalty left, and I'm not talking about a few people. It's multiple disciplines and age ranges.

I agree that the C-suite needs to be replaced. They demonstrate incompetence, allow various different strategies and organizational set-ups within their business.

Structure, set-up and business processe are outdated and not complied to. Highly overpaid, they will just ride it out and retire as multi millionaires. But they are always happy to celebrate Impact Quality... "The Emporers new clothes"

We would be better off if GE purchased us. I know they would flush this toilet to get rid of the dead weight executives and management we have around here.

Ask anyone at GE how their 401k is performing then look at your 401k idiot. How is that focusing on the oil and gas market working out for you. Moron.

FMC used to be part of FMC Corporation and made all that stuff. Wake up and know your company history. We spun off from FMC 12 years ago to focus on making better oil and gas equipment.

GE also just sold off their appliances and finance business to focus more on oil & gas. Reading the news once in a while, idiot.

GE makes oil and gas equipment, weapons systems for the US military, submarines, medical equipment, aircraft engines and yes refrigerators. This is my point, they are dirversified and able to weather the storm from any single market. This is something our leadership isn't smart enough to figure out. The oil and gas industry is changing and possibly for good. We need major change and our current leadership doesn't know where to start.

Jack welch made refrigerators. Not oil field equipment. Can't return it if it fails after 3 months. Or call a service repair guy to fix it from a van.

Sounds like your one of those former GE managers that joined FMC after you were let go from GE (for doing nothing).

Lolololol, GE! Really! Their culture is layoff or fire people. Ask anyone in Houston. If you think otherwise you're probably a stooge as well. Ive been here 15 years and know better. Go ahead and give your advice you ignorant no body.
