Erie is managed by fear, resentment and anger. It's been that way since the late great Jim Ertl.
That was Jim's ideology and management style and he recruited leaders that shared that ideology.
Regardless of events, we can continue to work in hopes of a continuing business. Looking forward to a brighter tomorrow and hopefully we all can move forward without anger.
The prestigious Erie good old boys fishing clubs' yacht is taking on water and sinking, the fourth of five privileged members has also jumped ship, that leaves only one member left to attend the annual pilgrimage
If you cannot see the idiots and/or morons, then you are the idiot/moron!!!
Captain Crunch......just curious. How long have you been with MS? Reason I ask is you seem so sure of yourself and speak so confidently about the idiots and morons that worked/work there. Funny, but I was there for 10 years (recently let go) and never met one idiot or moron! Could it be you're mistaken?
It's not FMC fault that the whole industry is suffering and as a result the stock price has dwindled more than 40% in a year. None of the experts in the industry could ever have predicted or believed it was going to happen or how long it will take to rebound. What is sad though about the situation in Erie is, that many of the people eliminated were 50 or more years old and had 10 to 30 plus years service. They were told that the reason they were let go is because their jobs had been eliminated only to later be replaced by younger people with little to no experience under a newly created position with a different job title. Basically many of them never had a chance of surviving the cut. It almost sounds criminal but yet completely legal. Not only is it a common business practice in the U.S. It is human nature to save ones own skin and not hesitate to throw a friend, mentor, someone that was always willing to help under the bus when it comes to survival. As for corporate in Houston, I appreciate the generous severance package, LHH membership and golf club I'm getting for 34.95 years service but not certain what I'm going to do with the 35 year anniversary plaque signed by John Gremp yet. Good luck to all that are left, hope your career turns out better than mine did.
It's a shame that for 2 years under the watchful eye of Erie's H.R. dept., the good ole boy fishing club and its' antics existed while rank and file worked their tails off. Quite a few dedicated hardworking people knew that their work time was for work and they still got crapped on while fishing club members got preferential treatment . It really damaged morale, with the exception of the club members whom rationalized their lack of meaningful contributions.
Correctly said. What about the crackpot's that made the call to get rid of knowledgeable, valuable people that did their job & other's? The saying 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people is quite valid in this case.
First off, great job on bitching here, you're great. Next your f---ing idiots. The morons in MS Erie will be let go. Most have been. There are only a couple key nitwits that still need to be released. I'm sure they know their number is up. Management has a few, we all know. Union has way more and I am so glad they will be shown the door soon too. Got nothing against no one but really, you brought it upon yourself. As for rest of us. Tighten up and do your damn job. Not difficult. Things will straighten out and when it it does we will be better for it. As for haters, cool off, if you wanna bitch...fine... You'll be next to be let go. And no one will complain about your loss
To the Scottish bloke: It's organization here in the U.S., and you're the Moron!
Yeah right ... like I'm going to chill, relax and help the leach that in the end is going to take my job and give it to someone else. You must be kidding me .... Ha .....
Guys chill...
FMC is in such a BAD state, there has been lots of information flow coming into the market... Good or bad. To the folks that were/ are going to be laid off... Stay positive. To the folks still in the organisation, make the best of your time and to help the others in this challenging time. We should strive to expose those morons still in the organisation that are making problems to the organisation as well as to those who left to organisation during this challenging time.
If you want to start calling people in Erie idiots then start with the guy who is running the Manufacturing group. If FMC doesn't know what an idiot is maybe they should start by attempting to have an intelligent conversation with that guy. If it wasn't for his fishing buddies he'd still be cranking wrenches in the R&D lab.
Quit lying!!! You give people false hope
