I would suggest new employees to run like hell! Less than 1 year of service only pays 2 weeks severance!! And we are all now forced to maintain health insurance by law. Wouldn't you rather get a head start and secure stable employment verses waiting for the hurricane to make landfall?
If you're new, I would stay and get your two weeks pay and two week severance. You'll find out this week anyway.
If you're already an employee, why would you quit over a rumor? Two things will happen. 1. You'll stay and keep your job. 2. You'll be laid off and receive a package.
Gee, I hope the CEO doesn't lose his $100,000,000 job - he only gets millions in golden parachute money...he might even have to dump his private jet or a couple of mansions...oh, the humanity!
