Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

D-Day will be in April?

I start believing the large scale layoff will happen in April based on: 1. A few important projects deadline is in March. 2. HR asking us to take class that relates to adapting the changing environment and the last class section is near the end of March. So company will fully use us until the last minute.

amen brother. value creation is exactly right. CEOs get more bonus by improving profitability...cost cutting mainly. that's right they lay off thousands of employees and will get many millions more in bonuses

Are you related to the boss either by blood, affiliation or nationality? Then you got everything to worry about...take that to the bank

I assumed that these classes are really meant to benefit those who will get to stay/remain after their coworkers have been notified etc. So I had hoped that the announcement of the names will be even sooner. Am I wrong then? What is taking them so long to just make decisions?

A couple of managers are giving hints but will not say 100% but this company will not look the same after reduction. Those who remain will face a difficult time with be management
