There's supposedly another checkin date half a year from now. This will keep happening for a while, but personally I dont think they have the right leadership. Dan Little has always been a bit of a buffoon when it comes to tech; too manufacturing industry focused, no concept of engineering or engineering KPIs. I'm scared that they have the upcoming CTO reporting to him.

Despite another 120 people being shown the door day today, I am "Still here". Whether that is good or bad is still to be seen.

120 today, and about 40-50 previously. Just a few more than the 10 they talked about.

Math isn't the strong point of Tara Darrow! It is a LOT more than 10, and started way back last year with VP's, then Directors and Senior Directors, and next will be us - the individual contributors. The latest rumor is that the drop dead date is March 17th - if you are still here on March 18th, then you stay, whatever that means. Atmosphere within the tech department is horrible - we are all scared and at least 40+ people gone (voluntary, involuntary, laid off, fired) so far. Next turn is "review season" - bad review, you are gone. Why do we stay? Fortunately its a great market, and everyone is looking. If you are a recruiter and you see someone you like at Nordstrom, give them a call. They will jump at it.
