If they just phone the field guys that would create a very long and interesting game of "hide and go find your truck". The amount of tools and equipment in each truck that is not accounted for or been signed out properly is amazing, and a phone call would give an ex employee plenty of time to take what he or she wishes. I could be way off base on this and they may not have thought of that. Getting called in on days off does not seem like a likely scenario as well for much of the same reason. What do I know though I just sweep floors.

It doesn't matter that the field guys wont' be in, they'll just phone them up.
So if this happens on Thursday what are they expecting from the field guys and gals who just went on days off? They going to call them on Thursday to come on in and get laid off?! Haha. Who is gonna be the first person to tell them to come get there shit?! Haha.

Houston Geologic Society - Mudrocks 2016 is happening in Allison hall, scheduled for tomorrow I believe, possibly this afternoon also?
Sure they r for the right step and EAP lol
Tables set up in Allison hall could be for a conference today and Wednesday
In the past at another major, layoffs came earlier than expected to preempt strategic misbehavior by the employees.
But this was before we had TheLayoff.com, where we share information and torture each other with the inevitable.
Tables are set up on 3 in Allison preparing for Wednesday the right step will be there as well as the EAP. Looks like you will check in there from the table formation. Hope to see you guys after Wednesday....good luck to everyone.
Thursday is the day, contractor hired to provide outplacement services, hear its really bad though, just good for hanging out and drinking coffee.
wish management would use a little more open communication. So many rumors
No he's right...it's Thursday.
Wouldn't a Wednesday make more sense. At least to the field offices due to everyone being at work on a Wednesday.
