The majority of passionate people are history! You're right! Left behind are many miserable, mean individuals, butt kissers, goofballs, and basically people no healthy employer would hire.

Of course it is. I am almost out of here and waiting on final paper work from my new employer. When I was interviewing, I saw another coworker in the cafeteria doing the same for a different team. Only people who stay are the ones who are obsolete and cannot find job elsewhere or getting loads of money at the expense of others. All the passionate people are gone. Avid, especially Pro Tools and Media Composer will limp along for a while. Premiere has just started making inroads into film post. Once current crop of editors and mixers fade away, other better productions will take over. Only sad thing is it is going to be a long drawn out slow painful death.
