Looks like you just reiterated the Benzinga report. The contractor number would stun me, b/c they'd have to let go of 1,800 contractors (they have 2,000 worldwide right now). If anything, contractors will be necessary to do the work employees used to do, but without the cost of benefits, 401k match, AIP, etc.
FAQ already addressed the Denver office closing rumor. Not happening. 20% cut overall, most likely next week. Lots of managers going away, 95% of consultants, 1200-1500 total (company wide).
Rumor is that APC will be closing the Denver office, and only 20-30% of the workforce will be relocated to the Woodlands. Middle management, IT, and accounting will be hit the hardest, but techs, geos, and engineers will be cut significantly as well. Field offices won't be hit as hard, but some cuts will also take place. It is just a rumor though. We will see next week. :)
Don't act like you found wattenberg. You're just lucky we have to convince hippies to let us frack and that it happened to be on the land grant. Chase the API gravity.. Oooh so hard..
Did I miss an email? What are the numbers? Also, Houston, tell me again how cool it was to have Maroon 5 last year. Good use of Wattenbergs hard earned cash.
Why am I not surprised?
Don't be so hard on the guy. I hope all the Woodlands people keep their jobs. Imagine living in the Aurora of Houston after the Aubrey-era O&G excess gravy train is yanked from you. You have only Donald Trump to give you hope, but even he isn't going to help you pay your Brooks Brothers credit card bill. We can't leave a colleague in such dire straits.
It's all yours as far as I'm concerned, Houston. I'll be smoking dank weed in the mountains between canvassing sessions for Bernie. Give me that severance check and you can keep those MBA-douchebag blue blazers looking fresh on the company dime all you want. It's the little things that will really help distract you from the approaching and inevitable twilight of your industry.
There is no team. And hurt your arm giving yourself a hand job.
Way to think about the team, you Woodlands folks can come figure out how to make Wattenberg run - Good luck.
Now that we know the target number of total layoffs, I can only hopes Denver gets hit really hard. Makes The Woodlands a little safer.
