Thread regarding IBM layoffs

28 years with IBM, got 0.66 days severance pay for each year of service

28 years, 2/3 day's pay for each year. Yay!

If you have a Future Health Plan IBM saved for you, and you are under 30 years with IBM and are under age 55 kiss that good bye too.

The whole sector is being commoditized - when you started 30 years ago IBM was THE PRIME COMPANY - not any more, now all what they do is making sure they milk as much revenue as they can (from the existing customer base) - all that Michael Rhodin hoopla and the Watson initiative is just smoke and mirrors for the investors. Ginni & Co. are primarily interested in extending their tenure as long as possible as they extract company profits on a quarterly basis.

Did they change the FHA eligibility terms? It was 55 years of age and 15 years of service as of last year anyway.

Good luck man, there is no loyalty here whatsoever - I am sure you'll bounce back with your tech skills
