A Resource Action is taking place today in GTS. The last day will be May 31 2016. I have 21 years of tenure, I was transferred to IBM from a client a few years back.
My group knew what was going on and we’ve been tracking this site and the FB group – we were training Indians to take over, so we knew that we’ll get hit. Nothing was hidden and we knew they were our replacements. Classy.
Since IBM gave us a 90 days Layoff notices, they felt that 4 weeks of severance will do, technically that time period we can use to look for new jobs, and if we bail early, they get to keep the severance. Classic IBM, they have no regard for the worker whatsoever.
Now, if I was to take Indian citizenship, would they allow me to keep my job? I am pretty sure that I’d be hired in a snap.
