I have noticed that for the first time in a very long time, there are no OKC postings on the Devon careers web page. Even during the recession from 2008-2010 there were always a lot of postings. I think that this illustrates exactly what type of shape Devon is in right now.

The thing I find so funny is people think there is some shortage of IT jobs. There is not. I have had no issues finding people willing to offer me work. My new job pays 96% of my Devon salary and I work 40 hours from the comfort of my home office. I have no stress over the price of oil and have a lot less stress. 2 weeks ago I would have thought it was an impossible issue to find a job. Now all I can think is think God they fired me. Almost everyone of my friends that were let go has either found something good or has something in the works. So as far as finding those best people that have been let go, good luck. Most of us are happy to have double the pay for a few months while we collect the severance package and work for our new employer without the stress of the next looming layoff.
1cdt your comment is doltish. Wake up
And anyone who still works here knows that in many cases we did not keep the best we kept the most economic
1cdt- That's a great idea except for the laid off every single recruiter so good luck with that
Lol! The best of the best? These companies don't know a good employee from a bad one.
I think it illustrates the path to recovery has begun. With oil's strong rebound it is time to start building back the workforce. We are beginning to see all the available talent out there from other companies laying off. We can be a bit more choosy in recruiting the absolute cream of the crop. Get back to the point where we only recruited the BEST.
Not bad, but the guy offering to buy up everyone's "Magic the Gathering" cards was better.
