I am currently on a project , but my utilization is down due to time off because of health reasons, my manager basically told me I need to work more hours to get my utilization up or higher management will give me a PIP (Performance improvement plan ) and get fired , Ive felt I have been here too long already with too many employees quitting and getting fired...... the writing is on the wall for me and its high time I leave for a better opportunity .......its enough hell to find a project but when management starts barking about utilization , its time to go! I should have left a year ago , Im grateful for my experience just coming out of college in 2013, but this place along with the managers is nothing short of bullshit

That's how the game is played, you need to stay chargeable. Nobody loves you, nobody cares about you, they do have a genuine interest in you staying chargeable so they can pay you 20% of whatever they bill and put the rest in the bank.
As for the 'being sick' part, they do not care about it - when they rank you, you'll be at the bottom as you will not be able to 'contribute' at the level if compared to your peers, so you are pretty much screwed there. If you cannot heat, now it'd be good time to get out of the kitchen.
