When they laid off in early 2016, just three workers were left in Document Control. They had the manager filing documents. Now, I hear that they will lay off 500 workers before this Thanksgiving. Make some connections because its around the corner!

I have to say it that they did not focused on low performance workers. Maybe people with many years in the company were targeted.

I was one of them and i had met all my reviews for years many awards and clean record working there.

Ever since the company was spinned off by Baxter, its never been the same. The layoff was like a Ginsu knife for alot of people at the LA plant. Really felt sad for the employees with long tenure.

They mainly focused on employees with 20+ years and with individuals with low performance.

First wave is over but the second one is coming. Funny how you see management talk about being transparent and tell everyone that its a necessary evil. People in middle management are frickin scared themselves. You can see it in their action and how they try to manage damage control - they are so full of shit.

But again, its only a job. They deserve everything coming to them. Best wishes everyone.

Sorry to hear about these layoffs. Anyone knows if the labor force has been reduced on Advate's manufacturing sites?

Hold on for the ride because this is just the beginning. In other words, pull out your resume you haven't updated for several years and update it asap. It was tuff to see employees who have been their many many years get let go from the moment they step foot on site. The wacking will continue. Crossing my fingers in LA guys.

Many lost their jobs in LA from the labs (15 people), validation, quality systems (2 Sr Managers), B5 Set up Techs, QMD Document group (lost 6), Pharma Filling (lost so many jobs)...the list goes on and on. It was random, felt like judgement day! They walk up to your desk and walk you out with no warning. They are doing a Site Assessment with Deloitte and I suspect they will do more lay offs. B1 manufacturing have to go down by 2018 and I know they will have another judgement day. Pharma industry is ruthless. Think twice before working here, job cuts will become a norm at BAXALTA, and soon to be Shire.
