"Professionals back in charge"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

Recommends

Neutral Outlook

Approves of CEO

Pros

Good compensation package

Interesting work

Smart people

Cons

The dark decade plus of the Mercury Interactive cronies of Ken Klein and Barry Mainz is thankfully over. Their ego and politics almost destroyed an otherwise solid software company.

Advice to Management

Become proud Intel employees - that is the only future there is

"Response to "Professionals Back In Charge""

Current Employee - Director of Marketing in Alameda, CA

I have been working at Wind River (More than 8 years)

Pros

Company did great things under Barry's leadership - held people accountable, drove execution and drove growth in new markets. The reason why this persons complained about Barry and Ken for that matter, was because they probably were fired for lack of execution, not changing and having a bad attitude. Thanks for all your work Barry - we miss you!

Cons

Company should have fired "Professionals Back In Charge" earlier.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good fight. lots of smart people, great market and fun company.

"If you're expecting professionals like the parent company, Intel Corp - think again!!!"

Former Employee - Honest Joe Trying to Make A Living in Alameda, CA

Doesn't Recommend

Negative Outlook

Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Wind River full-time

Pros

Beautiful campus, good pay and nice perks. There are some really wonderful engineers that I had the pleasure and privilege to collaborated with. Those particular engineers I will miss as they too believed in going the extra mile to get the job done on time, regardless of the hours we had to work.

Cons

Dishonest management (managers, directors, VPs etc.). HR fails to investigate illegal behavior by employees against one another. Management encourages and rewards bad behavior. If you are a hardworking, honest and trustworthy individual, this place is not for you.

Advice to Management

Upper management should all be replaced. The dishonest directors and managers should be replaced, and everyone retrained on how to be a professional and work in a professional environment.

STOP rewarding bad behavior.

Read a complaint online here from a female indicating not enough females get promoted. That simply is not true. The problem is that some females feel entitled to a promotion simply because they are female. The particular female who made the comment is not qualified for the VP level she seeks, however if she continues along her bad behavior path I am sure she will be rewarded accordingly.
