Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Negative anonymous postings are having a real impact on real people.

I am getting feedback that there is a lot of finger pointing and speculation as to who might be making these negative postings and this is encouraging off-the record comments that are casting clouds of suspicion over many currently looking for a job and others still at Devon.

It is hard to believe that anyone would give credibility to speculation, but its happening. If we were kids this would be hurtful, but now that we are talking about people's lively-hoods this is really kicking people when they are down and causing real problems for real people.

I hope anyone making the vicious comments will see they are hurting people they don't even know. And I hope anyone reading them will think a lot before making off-the record commentary or inferences that cast any cloud of doubt over someone who's trying to land on their feet.

Dear Angry Bird,

Thought I would point out that PMs and CIs do not require the apostrophe. Just sayin'.

You are the most stupid person. So you are wrongly accusing someone with out knowing for sure who is making the accusations. Then you are quality not the person making them. The truth hurts doesn't it!! I hope you are in the next round. The PE - PMO is a bunch of geeks caught up in their only glory. The Truth is Dickey is a horrible leader. He has pets and everyone else he could careless. His staff's work is not worth the effort his PMP is printed on. Granted there are a few, ok 1 and only 1 good PM in the entire bunch and its not Dickey or any of his supervisors. The Barbie and Ken staff are too busy playing house and not doing any really work. This new stuff we now have to track is unbelievable. Here's an original idea stop the busy work and do some real work like oil production. I challenge every person at Devon to really think about their own worth to the company. Do you think you add to the bottom line? None of the PM's do, that is why this group should be let go, oh yeah and the CI's. The CI's haven't improved anything except their bank accounts. Get over yourself and know you are expendable. Again get rid of PE and all of the PMs. This would save Devon some $$$$

I'll be back with more reason to get rid of PE soon. !!!!

The person I dislike is Michael Siemer. His group is full of low life kiss a$$ employees. Those of you at Devon know who I'm speaking of. They got rid of the workers in this area and left the trouble makers. Like the PMO do you will need this group? Couldn't it be outsourced? Same goes for IT. Out source everything !

Really I don't see it. It's a free county; post all you want. You are entitled to an option. Whomever posted the original post on this thread is beyond stupid. It they work for Devon then it is obvious they have too much time on their hands. They should not even care what is posted. Get over it and move on. You don't know their side. If you don't like what your reading then stop. No one is making read this

It's getting desperate when DVN sells $200MM of assets worth $400MM.

Read the news today. The street rates the stock as a D and says sell!

IF you are an employee, then time to pack up and start thinking ahead.

Don't be last one out, holding the door for the other chumps...

I'm thinking the first mistake is reading these post to begin with and second giving them any credit. The best thing for those with good sense is to stop coming to this site. Apparently this person or persons kowns they are getting a rise out of someone at Devon, which I'm sure is their desired outcome. I take the comments for what they are, nothing. I recommend people still at Devon do the same. I have read equally vicious comments on other layoff boards. Asking them to stop will only encourage them. You can not reason with people that are suffering from some type of mental illness. Mostly likely depression. They may also be severely bipolar. Mostly I see it as a cry for help and we can only hope that their personal situation changes soon. It could be someone still at Devon or even a family member of someone. It is a waisted effort to figure out and would be even worse to wrongly accuse someone. It would stand to reason for the quilty person to talk about this site the most, but can't we be absolutely certain?

Just pray that God will heal their wounds, so they will move on
