Citrix's situation is worse than ever and I am suspicious of management asking employees to post enthusiastic reviews on Glassdoor - some of them quite hilarious and grotesque - to hide the sinking ship moment. I haven't been told to do so (yet) has anybody been told to post extremely enthusiastic reviews ?

People come and go. Look at google, look at FB, look at Oracle (or former Sun), look at any other large engineering company that is (or has been) successful, including Citrix, and if you squint your eyes hard enough, you'll find plenty of cultish stuff. You are going to have a lot of people that are happy there, many others who are OK with getting a paycheck, and a lot others who, with or without reason, bitch and moan. The question here is, what you could possibly possess folks to go out of their way and call a different company a "cult" (considering how much Citrix fits the description of a cult.) A more important characteristic of a company it is current attrition rate. Being a cult is comes a distant second. So, my original question stands: who the fawk cares if Ultimate (or any other company for that matter) is a cult? You either join it, or you don't join it. You are happy where you are, or you are not. And if you are not happy with where you are, then either grow a pair and do something about it, or bitch and moan day and night never having the courage to see if the grass is greener the other side of the fence.
you gotta wonder why lisa crispin left ultimate so quickly after being hired as director of agile development some years back. she doesnt even have it listed on her linkedin page. that speaks volumes.

"ultimate is a cult" - if they pay competitively well (they do), treat people relatively well (they do) and have a history of retaining its people (they do), then who the fawk cares if it is a cult? Sour grapes? Envy? I have not heard a single person from Ultimate saying things are bad there. They make you work hard, but that's the whole fawking point of getting paid well and getting a CompSci/Eng degree, ain't it? Every company has its warts, and the question is whether you can live with them. And the only people I've known to crap on Ultimate are either people who have never worked there (and who are sh1tt1ng sour grapes out of their chocolate starship) or people who got mad for working hard (cuz who doesn't want to ride the good old gravy trains of a bygone era)? Disclosure: I have never worked there, but I know people who do, or has.
ultimate is a cult
Ultimate is currently giving their emps 2-3 bonus vacation days a year for as long as they keep all their best places to work and glassdoor reviews. Glassdoor is interesting but not reliable.

Trust Glassdoor as much as you trust this site. You can rig both.
Sometimes Glassdoor reviewers tell if their company asked. This has not yet been a Citrix problem.
HR ask to write only good reviews or you got into trouble....

This amounts to stirring up sh-- for the sake of stirring it. You haven't been told to do what you are claiming, yet you are asking if others had. Unless people have real evidence of knowledge of people making fake reviews, I would put this in the sh---talking cabinet. Things have gone bad enough, no need to create faux drama. This is like lancing your hemorrhoids and then rubbing salt and lemon in them just to proclaim "oh I hurt, poor me" to the world.
