If you are a first-line manager you better start looking for alternate options. It is the Sandisk's engineering products and possibly the revenue and market share that WD is interested in - not Sandisk's managers. A management position is dispensable - engineering skill set is not.

NOPE!! The org is already defined...watch for Dec 2016 layoffs followed by spring 2017 reorg
This is one of the dumbest posts I've read in a long time. WDC won't get rid of engineering, manager or engineer. They will probably get rid of parts of groups that are Redundant, such as parts of finance, HR and/or IT. Having said that, many of these roles will still persist into the new world.
To think that first-line managers (especially engineering managers) will be let go is naive in the extreme.
Isn't HGST already familiar with SSD? Of course the design of he SN150 is a joke...who thought of wasting all that space and then using connectors? And the fact Intel builds all the SAS products.
There are enough tech-savvy SSD managers in WD, to whom the SSD engineers will perhaps be pulled into when reorg charts are redone.
Should be fine for the first 12 months. WD needs time to get familiar with Flash Technology before replacing the managing positions
