Well it's official after months and months and months of Broken Arrow management lying to upper management in Houston about work. They have decided to close Broken Arrow shortly after Columbus. Their schedule has been falsified they won't run out of work in the next two to three weeks not the next two to four months. There is absolutely no work inside and no signatures to be signed or any work coming from any othe or any work coming other another facility. They plan on starting their employees out by placing them on 32-hour weeks so that they do not have to pay for the unemployment and severance packages. 32 hours a week starts next Monday

Some people plan for reductions and some people manager their money for all situations. This situation has not been anything new and has been coming for a long time. I am surprised they didn't lay off anyone in production. At least they got 32 hours. But again if you know how to manager your money you would have been doing that knowing this could have happened. There have been major layoffs all over the company since last year. If you haven't been let go you were lucky.
If you can live off 32hrs a week you are way over paid.
I agree that we all just need to wait and see. I am new to this site and I am really surprised by how many things are said when nobody has really been told anything. From my stand point until my manager tells me I am losing my job which could happen I come to work and do my job. I would think that is what everyone should be focusing on instead of worrying about which plants shut down or close or reduce hours or whatever the case may be. Like the one person said nothing can be done about it so we all should not throw out lies or state anything really until it has been said to that location. Good luck to all at Exterran and may you all find your path.
Regardless of what or how many jobs BKA or any other Exterran plant has , the plants are closing . It's a sad situation for all involved ! There is nothing we can do about it. So everyone needs to calm down and just get used to the idea. Hopefully things will turn around in 2017.
Wow is all I can say. I would have thought this would be a more professional place but I guess when you have people that must have been let go from Exterran they must get angry. I know for a fact that BKA has two jobs. Saw the contracts myself so whoever you are you may want to rethink your comments first. Is it slow yes it is. It is every where. Are they have more layoffs they probably will since those two jobs can't carry everything. But this is all common sense stuff. Best to luck to everyone in any location to keep their job with everything going on.
Laughing my mother f---ing assoff those two jobs fell through last week!!!!! Get your facts straight and quit lying to people. That's why they did some layoffs Thursday. And are doing more this coming week. You must be one of the ones that spend their day under their desk.
GY06JPS-okdt I hate to tell you this but you were wrong about the date. You posted this a month ago and it isn't happening until June. BKA hasn't been lying to Houston about what work they do or don't have. I know for a fact because I have been in the meeting show them the chart on when the work will run out. So not sure where your getting your information from but you really should tell the truth. Also by the way we do have two projects on the way that would get BKA through most of this year. So please get facts straight before you shout out false information.
Looks like i was right
You are correct about the nepotisim, it's bad in all places at Exterran. When I was there, before I retired I saw a lot of the higher ups that were transferred to other places or other positions to cover thier ass I remember the good ole days when the goal was to rent or sale a compressor and then to follow up and take care of the customer. Not so anymore. Who ever came up with the "planner schedule position" was an idiot. I've seen guys working on a unit and the one next to it would go down, if he or she would try to get it up for the paying customer would be writen up because it was not on the schedual for repairs. How stupid was that. I was in field service for 40 years and seen the decline of customer support because of the cost to Exterran. I could name a bunch of names but they know who they are. Thsnks jus a happy has been
This doesn't surprise me a bit. The BKA facility is an absolute train wreck! The good ole boy mentality is firmly in place here. I don't know what drugs "@GOhGDZy" is taking, but the management team at this place SUCK's! I have worked here (Both In Shop And Office) from the end of Dresser-Rand, through the Hanover years, through the Hanover-Universal merger which created Exterran, and up to the present day. I have seen people elevated to positions that they were not qualified to be in on multiple occasions. The material management is totally non-existent. Whenever a qualified material manager with a degree in that field (And I've Seen A few) came in and tried to apply their discipline, they were either fired or quit. Nepotism also is alive and well here, not to mention managers who manage nothing and no one. Not just BKA, but the company as a whole is a joke, the only positive I've found is the people who (Excluding The Normal Amount Of Morons) are very caring and considerate of one another. Three word summary - THIS PLACE SUCKS!
The Center of Excellence was one of the biggest jokes. I know I use to be part of the "team" they never solved any problems because they always needed more data. It was always we need to have a meeting and find out what the Dynamics of the "team" was. The COE was so self centered that nothing and I mean nothing of value came out. A lot of wasted money and man hours down the tube by their manager and assistant manager George W.
I'm calling Bulls--- on this one. If they needed a 20% reduction in hours worked they would lay off 20% of the workers. Lord knows they're good at doing that.
To the original poster.....are you another dim one or from Texas? Either way your about the same......Anyway slow one. Oklahoma is a right to work state so Exterran does not have to give anyone a compensation package. If they choose to it is only because they care about those that they can no longer employ. The hours worked is irrelevant to a compensation package so do you have any more lies you want to spread? Next time you post make sure your low I.Q. isn't showing.
So how do explain the ship dates on the projects currently being built? Some will not be completed until the end of june. At 32 hours a week those ship dates will be missed. Sorry if your going to make stuff up at least do the math.
Oh no!! What will be next stay tuned!
but....but....what will Exterran be without the Center of Excellence ?
