If you are part of the IT beer club you stand a better way chance of keeping you job. Also you have to be under 35 and no threat to Ben Williams. Being gay also helps.

One reply is so right about removing friends and pets from the layoff list. That is all I will say. Look around you for the position created out of thin air. You will spot them.

There will not be any formal annocement this time. People will just be released at needed. You'll hear rumors when it happens. Things will heat up in June especially if we don't sell any assets.

The layoff is geared to how much you as an employe cost the company. They take out certain people that are deemed necessary or friends/pets. The rest are racked and stacked. The part of the equation that I think is so unfair is that they used your medical expense. So if you or one of your family has had major medical expense then this is added in. This has really made me very upset. In the first round they laid off people with cancer and families expecting babies. Some how this doesn't seem legal and certainly isn't right!!! This is a fact confirmed by some of the HR reps layer off.

Share holder value has already been slammed. Don't expect layoffs to lessen the damage. Share prices won't rise until oil does and that's a fact.

12 years of sweat for devon and they kept a service company engineer who was hired last year over me.

I am a shareholder demanding 25% cuts to keep my money intact.

The paperwork from the first round isn't complete. A lot of it can't be sent out until people are actually terminated. Rushing the process won't end the pain and suffering.

This downturn is worse than the 80's with the political dynamics of OPEC, along with lifted Iranian sanctions. There were some seasoned employees that you probably should have respected a little more while they were there that started leaving on their own the past several years. They could have helped you through this.
