Thread regarding Cameron International Corp. layoffs

Why is this page still up?

If we are no longer Cameron International, why keep this page up? Now myself and Lee have to look at two different pages for gossip after we finish our "closed door meetings" and clean up our mess.

first and last of all. I wish all the best to all getting axed. But it is in SLb best interest to proceed to give severance applicable to the laws of the jurisdiction where layoffs happen. SLB does not need the negative press.

I worked for Camco when SLB bought us. They left us alone for two years. At two years, HR teams went around to all offices for group meetings and then individual meetings. HR told me that, once I reached 15 years service (grandfathered), I would be vested in their retirement program. I already had 10 years at Camco. So I asked what was the likelihood that I would make 15 years. Without hesitation, the HR guy said "not very good". At least he was honest. If you ever worked for SLB before and quit, you are a prime target. SLB assumes that if you were worth anything, you would already be working for them. The fact that you work for another company means you are not an asset to SLB.

SLB will treat you the same way Cameron treated every company they bought. they will lay off a large amount in the beginning and then they get everything they want from you over the next year and then they will let everyone from the old company go. In case you haven't noticed, they are getting rid of everyone over 40 as fast as they can. if you have more than ten years @ Cameron then you wont make the cut. I promise you many of you think it is over, it is far from over. And the other bad news is that all the severance packages have been used up. the next round will simply be two weeks notice and then gone. And for all you back stabbing managers who think you are safe, your fall will hurt the most. They will cut your pay and strip your title. The power you think you have and all your petty moves will come back to haunt you. You think your are safe. The truth is you just stepped off a sinking ship onto another sinking ship and they will throw all Cameron employees over board before they throw there own. Why do you think SLB has put its employees on furloughs to help lighten the expenses and yet no one from Cameron has been asked to furlough. that's because you wont be there long enough to cost them money.

If you survive, you will always believe in your heart that you are Cameron. SLB knows that which is why survival is difficult.
